The Shelby County Food Pantry needs donations. Donations can be made year round at the West Central Community Action on 6th Street in Harlan. Both non-perishable food items and non-food items can be donated.

All In-Country Vietnam veterans and surviving spouses: the Shelby County Veterans Affairs Commission has a limited number of the Vietnam War 50th year commemoration "A Time To Honor" Books. Bring in your DD214 showing Vietnam service and pick up your book.

Flu Vaccination Clinics will be offered at Myrtue Medical Center Clinics.  Appointments are required for the Harlan Clinics only by calling 755-4422 or online at www.shelbycountyclinics.com. Appointments are not needed at other locations.  There will be 14 Flu vaccine clinics for ages 6 months and older.  They include:

Flu vaccinations can be billed to Medicare Part B and WellmarkBlue Cross and Blue Shield if you bring your card.   Those with other private insurances must pay for the vaccine and a receipt will be given to you for insurance reimbursement.

 

 

sunday, September 24th:

The Defiance Fire and Rescue Department’s Pancake breakfast will be held on Sunday, September 24th, from 8 to noon at the Defiance Fire Hall.  They will be serving biscuits, pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice and coffee.  All for a free will donation.  Take outs are also available.

The Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton will be holding their annual Breakfast Sunday, September 24th.  Serving will be held from 9 am to 12:30 pm.  Come and enjoy an egg bake, pancakes, sausage, waffles, potatoes, rolls, muffins, fruit, yogurt and beverages for a free-will offering.  There will also be a bake sale sponsored by the Sunday School Children.
