AHSTW BKB Gets Sweep of Mo Valley –

(1-30-26) – Runs factored into a doubleheader sweep by AHSTW on Friday.

Ava Paulsen 3-ptr late in the 3rd started a 20-0 run that allowed to hold on to a 53-44 win over Missouri Valley.

After trailing the Lady Vikes by 16 at the half, the Lady Reds used a 20 to 4 run in the 3rd to tie the game at 32. Paulsen says that’s when they turned up the defensive pressure.

“Just to apply defense and get up and pressure them as much as we can and try to force any turnovers that we can get and then run the force and get some early points.”

AHSTW took command in the first half with precision passing and forcing turnovers. Paulsen says the hard work they’ve put in to practice is now showing up in games.

“Just work hard and practice and make as many good passes as we can and then translate that into a game and just push the ball and make sure everyone gets their hands on the ball so we can all get up points.”

Lily Handlos led four Missouri Valley players in double-figures with 13 points in the loss.

Collin Harder led the way with 24 pts as AHSTW ended their 3-game losing streak with a 58-46 win over Missouri Valley. Harder said he felt good from the start.

“Ultimately it was, if I have space, I'm going to let it fly. I knew I was feeling it tonight and if you leave me a little bit of space and I'm going to shoot it.”

Harder’s 1st half kept the Vikings in it as it was the Big Reds would match them nearly shot for shot, making it a 2-pt game at the half. But AHSTW would go on a 14-4 run in the 3rd qtr to break the game open.

Harder says the win is huge for the Vikings confidence.

“It was huge for our team's morale, man. I mean, ultimately were able to kind of come out of this and keep going as a team.”

Layton Maasen had 14 pts and Jaden Hill had 12 for the Big Reds who’ve now lost four straight.
