Come-From-Behind Wins for Audubon Boys, BV Girls Lead to DH Split -

(1-23-23) – A pair of competitive interconference games lead to a split on the hardwood in Audubon.

The Audubon boys’ erased an 8-pt halftime deficit came away with a 71-60 win over Boyer Valley. The Wheelers Collin Bauer scored 19 of his 24 points in the 2nd half and 14 were from the free throw line. Bauer talked to KNOD Sports about his team’s philosophy after halftime.

“That was a team we knew we could get downhill on and getting downhill isn’t something I’ve done well all year, but some that my teammates have done well and I decided that I better do it too tonight. I guess it worked out for us.”

Audubon got 18 pts and 12 rebounds from Edward Miller while Carson Bauer had 16 pts. Drew Volkman had 24 pts for Boyer Valley, who was outscored 45 to 26 in the second half.

In the girls’ game, Boyer Valley used an 18-0 run in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to erase an 8 pt-deficit and earn a 46-37 win over Audubon. Sylvia Sullivan dominated the boards for the Bulldogs, grabbing 14 rebounds to go with her 9 points. Sullivan said this was an important win considering how the season’s been going for Boyer Valley.

“It’s great. It’s really a boost to our self-esteem to get the win and pushing forward for the rest of the season.”

Boyer Valley got 16 pts from Lauren Malone and 13 from Jess O’Day. Audubon was led by Sienna Albertsen with 17 points. It’s the Bulldogs win over the Wheelers since 2018.
