Core Cardinals Return, But Treynor Has Some Holes to Fill –

(8-28-24) – Having a good returning core of players is always beneficial. Treynor football has that at quarterback, but the rest of the offense is a mystery.

Cardinals Coach Jeff Casey likes the leadership he gets at quarterback with the return of Ben Casey.

“His understanding of the playbook and his understanding of the game just goes such a long way and he remains pretty calm when he's on the field and so it allows him the ability to get guys lined up and make sure everybody's on the same page.”

With some holes to fill on offense, Casey says he’ll give Peter Young a chance to produce on both sides of the ball.

“Peter, kind of, he just exploded onto the scene last year, we knew he was a good athlete. We weren't sure how much he was going to play defensively for us last year and then, again, an early season injury at the safety position gave him an opportunity and once he got that chance, there was no turning back for him.”
