Cyclone BB Steals Win from Underwood, 2-0 –

(7-1-26) – Cyclone baseball was as sly as a… Foxx… in getting the win Wednesday.

Foxx Argotsinger’s steal of home in the 1st was all Harlan Community needed as they’d earn a 2-0 victory over Underwood.

Argotsinger led off the game with a double, then moved to 3rd on a single by Harrison Kjergaard. That setup the perfect scenario for executing the double steal.

“I knew that the catcher, if he threw it past the pitcher, I was going to go,” said Argotsinger of the play. “I know I got the speed to (make it) so, he threw it past the pitcher and I just took off.”

It was another game where Harlan Community was able to score in unusual ways. Their only other run came on a wild pitch in the 5th to score Barrett Kaufman. The Cyclones only had four hits for the game and left 7 runners on base.

Gavin Sisson was excellent again for the Cyclones, taking a no-hitter into the 6th for the 2nd time this season.

“It's just a lifelong dream to feel something like that. No hitter,” said Sisson of flirting with history. “I mean, it's a cool feeling, but just got to keep focusing on the hitters and just attacking every count no matter what.”

Sisson went 5 innings and gave up the one hit while striking out six. He had five 3-2 counts during the game… just one of those batters reached base: a one-out walk in the 3rd to the Eagles Owen Fletcher, their first base runner of the game.

Colton Schneider threw two perfect innings of relief for his 4th save of the season.

Coltin Johnson was equally as brilliant for the Eagles, going 5 innings, and striking out 5 while giving up just the two runs for the hard-luck loss.

The win is the Cyclones 8th in a row and 11th in their past 12 games. Argotsinger says the focus of their team remains the same.

“Just go out there and attack right away. We don't want to give up any free bases. Don't want to make any errors. Go out and hit the ball hard and just do our jobs.”

Sisson says it’s a similar thought process from the pitching perspective.

“Just stay ahead, you know, work the counts, just stay in it as best as you can.”

Harlan Community now sits at 20-7 on the season.
