Cyclone Girls’ Soccer Falls on Senior Night to Underwood, 3-1 -

(5-9-25) – Another close game that didn’t go their way.

Harlan Community hosting Underwood on Senior Night and the Cyclones got an early goal from Aubrey Schwieso but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles got three straight goals, two by Tieler Hull, and the Cyclones lost 3-1.

The loss now makes Harlan Community 4-5 on the season in matches decided by 2 goals or less. Cyclone Coach Jared Boysen finds that his team being in close matches can be a good thing.

“Even though we haven't been winning, they've all been close. That's kind of been a frustration, but at the same time, motivation for them. All the teams that we're going to be playing in the regionals we’re right there with them.”

Seniors Grace Albertsen, Aubrey Schwieso, Kaylan Anderson, Kassie Anderson, and Ivy Stevens were honored following the match. Boysen talked about his senior group following the game.

“Not only great players but just great people and that's what we want as they they've grown throughout the program and being great examples for the younger girls, especially this year, with quite a few freshmen. Some of their sisters playing. It's been fun to see them be role models and leaders as seniors.”

Harlan Community girls’ is 6-7-1 and will face top-ranked Lewis Central on the road Monday.
