Cyclone Schwieso Chooses Northwestern College for Basketball –

(3-3-25) – Orange City… here she comes.

Harlan Community guard Aubrey Schwieso signed her letter of intent to play for Northwestern College Monday.

Schwieso talked about what led her to becoming a Red Raider.

“I think it's gonna be a great place so I can grow as a basketball player and not only that, but also grow my faith and become a better person. I know a lot of people who have graduated from there and they're great people and I'm surrounding myself good people there, as well.”

Schwieso averaged 15.3 points per game her senior season where she also surpassed the 1000-point mark for her career and became the 2nd leading scorer in Cyclone history.

She believes her success has been aided by several factors.

“I've been blessed with really great coaches and also just my teammates. You kind of saw, there’s a lot of them here so it just means a lot to have their support, but they're my best friends.

“I just really appreciate all the support from the community and then my parents; they've done a great job and just showing up. I can probably count on one hand how many games they've missed and then also my grandparents just showing up for everything and the continued support from everyone is really helped me and developed me as a player.”
