Cyclones Blow Away Rams as All 5 Starters Reach Double-Figures, 77-63 -

(2-23-23) – Team effort taken to another level.

That’s what Harlan Community had going Thursday night in their 77-63 victory over Glenwood in the Class 3A Substate 8 Semifinals.

All five Cyclone starters were in double-figures, led by Jace Gubbels who had 20 pts, several in transition on heads up plays by his teammates.

“I was just running the floor. Teagon (Kasperbauer) and (Jacob) Birch, they were throwing the ball up the floor. Our team’s really good at passing it forward and keeping the ball moving.”

Kasperbauer and Franz Reisz each had double-doubles as Harlan Community shot nearly 50 percent from the floor.

Glenwood was led by Caden Johnson with 17 pts, several on slashing layups down the stretch as the Rams attempted to comeback. Glenwood finishes their season 15-8.

Harlan Community will now face Class 3A No. 1 Bondurant-Farrar in Creston on Monday for the Substate 8 Championship.
