Defense Shines for Cyclones FB in Win over Greene County, 49-0 –

(10-24-25) – The Cyclones football team goes out in style.

A max effort game saw Harlan Community’s defense create 7 turnovers in a 49-0 win over Greene County to wrap up their season.

“Defensively, we were really, really disciplined tonight,” said Cyclone Coach Todd Bladt. “They had a lot of pride in what they were doing on the field and it showed. The seniors came together, guys that have been playing together for almost a decade and decided to lay it on the line tonight and just play at a high level.”

Harlan Community had 5 interceptions, three by sophomore corner Foxx Argotsinger.

“We really wanted to play hard for the seniors and upperclassmen because we knew that it was their last game. So, we just really tried at our best just going out there and then it's going to build into next year, all that courage and stuff. (We’re) going to be more at the top end of the team. So, we're going to be older ones trying to have the younger ones help us just like we helped them.”

Shane Cooper would score on Pick-6 and Landon Nihsen would return a punt at 59 yds for a TD.

Senior Gabe Arkfeld rushed for two scores and threw for another in his final game as Cyclone QB. Bladt will have fond memories of this senior class.

“They're a tight-knit group. They really are. We don't have a ton of seniors, but they care about each other.”

Despite the fact that their season is over, this season has been fun for Argotsinger.

“It's been pretty fun. A lot better than last year. I feel like I’m tackling and just doing what I'm supposed to do. Just been building it up on practice. They stick me to corner for most of the season and just been really practicing hard and trying to make plays.”

Bladt has been pleased with Argotsinger’s progress this season.

“He's getting better all the time. He's kind of committing to that 1%. Finding that 1% better every day and we look for him to continue to improve. Build strength and speed and, just turn into kind of a bruiser out there at the corner.”

As for the season, Bladt knows that it could’ve been dramatically different.

“You got to remember, we're 19 points away from having an 8-1 season. You put it that way, and it's kind of like, oh, man, we go back to a lot of different games, and it's one play here, one play there. That's the worm turn in the game.”

The Cyclones finish the season 4-5.
