First Win in RVC for IKM-Manning VB Over Woodbine, 3-0 –

(9-10-26) – The newcomers showed they came to play.

IKM-Manning and Woodbine in their first ever meeting as Rolling Valley Conference foes the Wolves would dominate the Tigers, winning in straight-sets, 25-16, 25-14, 25-20. It was the Wolves first-ever win as members of the RVC.

Macy Gruhn, who had 4 kills and a pair of blocks for the Wolves, talked about how working the ball into the middle helps run the whole offense.

“Even if I don't get set that ball, we like to still go and it sometimes throws off the other team for their blocking and it leaves their outside open and I mean, that helps a lot for our outside hitter being able to get that open net. So, we just try and work with our middles on making sure the nets more open for all the hitters and being able to switch it up on our side.”

Keagan Eischeid had 8 kills while IKM-Manning teammate Addisyn Bandow had 6 as the Wolves improve to 8-2 on the year. Gruhn knows how those two can help their team night in and night out.

“It's really good having them on our team. They're both great hitters, so it's a really great addition to our team and being able to have them.

Gruhn says IKM-Manning really wanted to begin conference play with a positive note.

“We wanted to start off good, and I felt like we did a great job tonight winning it tonight.”

The Tigers got 8 kills from Vanessa Blum while Tesla Wagner had 4 kills as Woodbine fell to 1-7 on the season.
