Five Area Wrestlers Win State Championships -

(2-19-22) - State Wrestling Tournament wrapped up at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines Saturday, with 5 area wrestlers winning State Championships.

In Class 1A, Eli Becerra of Missouri Valley at 113 pounds, Gable Porter of Underwood at 132 pounds, Hagen Heinstand of Underwood at 145 pounds, and Wyatt Reisz of Logan-Magnolia at 152 pounds. In Class 2A, Kadin Kutzman of Atlantic-CAM at 170. 

Jace Rose of Riverside at 126 pounds and Rex Johnson of Logan-Magnolia at 285 pounds finished runner up.

Meanwhile, Harlan Community’s Zane Bendorf finished in 6th place in the Class 2A State Wrestling Tournament, dropping his last two matches by decision.
