HC Girls’ Track Finishes 4th at Koos Relays, Treynor Wins

HC Girls’ Track Finishes 4th at Koos Relays, Treynor Wins -

(4-10-25) – One last time to shine in front of the home fans.

Harlan Community battled their way to a 4th place finish at the Koos Relays in Harlan Thursday.

The Cyclones got a win in the 4 by 800 with Sadie Alberti, Allie Anderson, Aspen Bieker, and Brylee Schechinger putting up a time of 10:41.70. Alberti talked about how their relay team is coming together.

“It’s really nice because we have just such a good environment with these girls and also encouraging and positive and motivating and I feel like we all just push each other to be our best.”

Bieker likes how she and her teammates can compete in front of their home crowd.

“We love being here at Harlan. Even though we have one meet, it’s nice that we have so many people from Harlan that came out to support us, especially on this cold day. So, yeah, they mean a lot to us.”

“It’s really cool to compete in front of our crowd because we only get to do it once and we get to show all of our hard work,” added Anderson.

For Schechinger, her final Koos Relays will always be special.

“This is my last home meet. So, it's nice to make memories and good memories that I'll be able to look back on and remember.”

Schechinger, along with Abby Brockelman, Jaylee Schmitz, and Lindsey Sonderman, were honor during the meet on Senior Night.

The Cyclones also earned the victory in the Bill Hosack 4x400 with a time of 4:19.03.

Lewis Central won 8 of the 19 events with Brook Nelson taking the 100M, 200M, and 400M. Treynor won five races including the 4 by 100M, 4 by 200M, and Distance Med.

Treynor was your overall winner with 141 points. Lewis Central was 2nd.
