HC's Gessert Chooses Simpson to Continue Track, XC Careers -

Harlan Community's Jenna Gessert has chosen to continue her careers in cross-country and track at Simpson College. Gessert told KNOD Sports she wasn't even sure if was the path she wanted to take.

"At first, I didn't even want to run in college, but then Coach (Heath) Moenck reached out to me after one of my races and he talked about it to me. I met the team and I liked the environment."

Gessert feels it's the perfect atmosphere for her to continue her academic and athletic careers.

"All the people are so nice there and the campus is beautiful and everyone was so welcoming."

Gessert was a member of a Harlan Community cross-country team that was ranked 6th in Class 3A by the Iowa Association of Track Coaches. She also had the 2nd best team-time in the 800M last track season.
