IKM-Manning moving to the Rolling Valley in 2026-27 –

(6-24-25) – The vote was unanimous.

The IKM-Manning School Board voted Monday night, 6-0, to accept the invitation to join the Rolling Valley Conference starting in 2026-27.

IKM-Manning Superintendent Dr. Angela Huseman provided comments to KNOD Sports regarding the board’s decision.

“We want to fill our stands. Being at the far end of the (Western Iowa Conference) means that we don't get full gyms for games as it is such a trek for opposing fans to get to us. We are hoping that by being in a conference that involves less travel, we can get the atmosphere we want for our athletes.”

“We want to give our students the best experience possible. We want more of our students to participate on the field, court and track, as we know that when a student feels a part of a program/school, they are more likely to be successful in the classroom. We believe that success breeds success.”

The decision makes IKM-Manning the 2nd school in a week to leave the Western Iowa Conference. Audubon agreed last week to join the Rolling Valley for the 2027-28 sports season.
