Kohl Shines for Mo Valley in Win over St. Albert, 8-0 –

(6-11-25) – The I-29 series saw a 1-inning explosion become the difference.

The interconference contest between Missouri Valley and St. Albert saw the Lady Reds blew the game open with a 6-run 4th as Missouri Valley rolled to an 8-0 victory over St. Albert.

Lady Reds pitcher Aubrie Kohl gave up just one hit and struck out 5 in the 5-inning shut out, bringing her career strikeout total to 54 short of 1000. Kohl talked to KNOD Sports about what it means to her to hit that career mark for Missouri Valley.

“It’d mean a lot. I know that I've been close all season, so I kind of have that pressure on my shoulders but I just know that I need to go out and throw my game. You know, it’d mean a lot. I've worked with Coach Barker a lot over the years, so just to get to that milestone would be great.”

Senior Grace Herman was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI for the Lady Reds. She talked about the culture of this team.

“It's been phenomenal. Everyone's been so positive. We're being good teammates. The past years have been a little rocky, but we have a new saying, ‘It's we over me.’ So, we always put that first and we always put each other first over ourselves.”

Mo Valley’s Dilynn Meade was 1 for 3 with an RBI. The Lady Reds took advantage of 4 Saintes errors in the contest.

Olivia Johnson had the lone hit for St. Albert, who fell to 2-9 on the season. Missouri Valley improved to 15-2.
