LC Tops Field at Ken Carstens Invite, Harlan Community 9th -

(4-15-25) – The effort and determination were there, even if the points were not.

Harlan Community hosting the Ken Carstens Invite Tuesday and the Cyclones didn’t get the numbers they hoped for in earning a 9th place finish. Lewis Central was your overall winner with 131 pts. Treynor was 2nd followed by Underwood, and Woodbine.

Cyclone Coach Sam Brummer was pleased with the effort his young athletes as many had to fill in for injured teammates.

“We got a really young team that went out and continuing to kind of cut their teeth, so to speak, at a varsity level and it may not have resulted into maybe the outcomes we wanted tonight, but hopefully able to take some of these things and learn from them and keep building for the future.”

Foxx Argotsinger helped the Cyclones to a 4th place finish in the Sprint Med, while also finishing tied for 8th in the high jump, and 6th in the 400 meter hurdles with a new personal best time of 1:00.19 seconds. Argotsinger talked about doing all he can to help the team.

“There's some hurt athletes right now so, we got to step up, take their spots, and just go out there and compete.”

Hagen Sorensen was 4th in the 100 while the Distance Med team of Jackson Ahrenholtz, Joshua Erlemeier, Carson Baughman, & Ray Schechinger came in 3rd.

Meanwhile, Cauy Konz was the anchor of the Treynor Shuttle Hurdle relay team that won with a time of 58.87 seconds, then won the 100M dash immediately after that with a time of 10.92 seconds.

Woodbine’s Landon Blum won the long jump with a distance of 20 feet 5 and half inches, and Underwood got wins in the Sprint Med, 4 by 400M Relay, and Tayden Hull won the 400M hurdles.
