Lo-Ma SB Rolls vs Underwood, 11-3 –

(6-19-26) – It wasn’t all easy, but the offense stepped up when needed.

After falling behind in the 1st, Logan-Magnolia quickly took the lead, then explodes for 6-runs to come away an 11-3 win over Underwood in 5 innings Friday.

Ella Hack had a 2-run single in the 1st for the Panthers to give them a 3-2 lead for good. She says her team is always confident in their ability to score runs.

“Even if we get down in the first inning, I think that we could still like pick ourselves up anytime,” said Hack, after going 2 for 3 with 3 RBI. “Like we've had some big comebacks. We can like come back from anything. I just think we can always come back.”

It was a bit of a struggle for Lo-Ma pitcher Campbell Chase, who gave up a 2-run homer to Underwood’s Kayley Ambrose in the 1st and 3 runs total in the game on 7 hits. But she battled through striking out 5 in getting her 13 win on the year. She also was 2 for 2 at the plate with a home run.

“We know that we can always trust her,” said Hack of her senior leader in the circle. “She's going to do a good job whether or not she hits the ball, whether or not she pitches a strike. We just know she's always going to have a good attitude and she's always going to pick our team up.”

Despite a tough week against ranked, Western Iowa Conference, opponents where they went 2-3, Hack says the team learned a lot about themselves by facing tougher competition.

“We really learned that like we can never give up. I mean, against (Exira-EHK/) Audubon, we were up 5-0 in the first inning and then we just, like, we can just never give up. We got to keep pushing and just finish the game.”

The Eagles Ambrose was 2 for 3 with a homer and 2 RBI as they continue a rough stretch of facing five ranked teams over an 8-game span.
