Lo-Ma Softball Beats Tri-Center Behind Hiatt's 15 K's, 7-4 –

(5-23-23) – The Hiatt in Logan is not very welcoming to opposing hitters.

Abby Hiatt’s 15 strikeout performance helped shut down an up-and-coming Tri-Center team and led Logan-Magnolia to a 7-4 win Tuesday. Hiatt struck out the first 5 Trojans she faced before allowing a walk and hit then struck out the next two batters to record the first 7 outs of the game via strike out. She struck out the side 3 times in her 7 innings of work.

The Panthers scored 6 times in the third, capped off by a 3-run homer by Brooke Johnsen. Johnsen told KNOD Sports she was sure if it was gone.

"You know, I thought so, but I wasn't for sure because it was so high up then when it went out it made sense."

Hayden Thomas went all seven for the Trojans, giving up 3 earned runs on 6 hits, but was really affective over the last 4 innings to keep the game within reach. Avilyn Killpack was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI.
