Lo-Ma Softball Slams Tri-Center, 13-0 –

(6-12-26) – The Panthers showed why they’re No. 5 team in 2A.

It was a dominating performance for Logan-Magnolia as they rolled to a 13-0 win over Tri-Center on Friday.

Gracyn Stone’s grand slam in the top of the 4th would give the Panthers enough win the game by run-rule. Stone, who was 2 for 3 with 5 RBI, talked about her approach at the plate

“I was just kind of looking for my pitch, just really looking for my crush zone pitch and just focusing on my techniques and just wanting to get at least a hit to score some runs, but having that grand stam really brought up the energy and everything.”

Pitching continues to be solid for Logan-Magnolia as well. Campbell Chase continued her dominate start to the season by allowing just 4 base runners and recording 9 strikeouts over the 12 outs she recorded. Chase says her confidence in her teammates allows her to be relaxed on the mound.

“One thing I think that really helps me open the circle is our defense is absolutely amazing this year. So, I know if I do pitch it and they do get a hit, our defense is going to be there to back it up.”

Chase was also 2-2 at the plate with an RBI. Abby Guritz also had two hits and drove in 2 runs.

With the Panthers now at 11-1, Chase thinks the philosophy of the team has helped them start the season strong.

“Our motto for the past several years has actually been ‘Hold the Rope.’ So, it's about being there for your teammates and like keeping the energy up and stuff like that. So, I think that's probably the biggest thing that we've held on to is just being there for everyone and keeping them up and that keeps our energy up.”

Jill Budge and Reese Dittmer each had singles for Tri-Center. The Trojans fall to 3-10 on the year.
