‘Hungry’ Players Key to Consistency for Underwood FB -

(8-26-24) – With a 48-8 record over the last, Underwood football has been a model of dominance in Class 1A.

Underwood Coach Nate Mechaelsen talked about the consistency of his team over the years.

“I just feel like our kids are hungry to take things to the level and you know, I think that just carries over from one group to the next and obviously our hope is that that, that that continues to be the case moving forward.”

Having a generational talent like Garrett Luett at quarterback has also been good, says Mechaelsen.

“You try not to take it for granted honestly because, you know, kids like him don't come around very often or ever and the great thing about Garrett is he's one of the hardest, if not the hardest workers in our football team and when you combine a kid with a ton of talent who just wants to get better every single day, I mean, it's a great recipe for success.”
