Missouri Valley BKB Wins Pair of Thrillers over Boyer Valley -

(12-11-25) – It wasn’t easy but it ended in a sweep for the Reds.

Giacobbe Bartalini’s three pointer with 30.9 seconds left in overtime gave Missouri Valley the lead for good as they’d beat Boyer Valley, 70-67.

Bartalini, who ended up with 14pts, talked about the game-winner for the Big Reds.

“I trust my guys. We trust all of our guys enough to go out and make a play for one another. My forward Ryder O'Dowd, he made a good paint touch, got to the paint, and he found me in the corner, and I knocked down the shot.”

Missouri Valley trailed by 5 in overtime before going on a 7-0 run to end the game. Boyer Valley also had several chances to win the game in regulation but missed three consecutive free throws in the final 30 seconds.

Layton Maasen led the Big Reds with 23pts helping his team recover from losing an 11-pt lead and gain their first win over Boyer Valley in 19 years. The Bulldogs got 23pts from Levi Reineke in the loss.

In the girls’ game, Mackenzie Parrott had 15pts as the Lady Reds held on to win a wild back-and-forth affair 51-47 over the Bulldogs.

Parrott talked about the camaraderie the team is building.

“We have good team chemistry. As soon as we pass the ball, we know everybody can shoot, everybody can drive, everybody can do anything. So, if we get the ball somewhere, we know someone can make a play.”
Missouri Valley opened up an 8-pt lead at the half, but Boyer Valley kept whittling away at the deficit and closed to within one possession several times in the 4th qtr.

Bulldogs got 16pts from Morgan Hast and Sylvia Sullivan had 12pts and 12 rebounds in the loss.
