Riverside BKB Heads to Holiday Break w/ Road Sweep of Lo-Ma -

(12-19-25) – Santa came early for Bulldogs fans as their basketball teams would get a sweep on the road to enter the holiday break.

Riverside visiting the Panther Dome to battle Logan-Magnolia and the Bulldogs were running the floor hard. Peyton Amdor put up 22 pts as Riverside cruised to a 69-36 win over Logan-Magnolia.

Cole Jeppesen, who added 13 pts for the Bulldogs, said his team knew they had to finish the week strong.

“We knew we just had to come out here and play hard. It's the third game of the week, so know it's going to be tough. Conference game and this new place is really nice. So coming in, it was really just stop the big guy down low, get going on offense and get run outs.”

Those run outs allowed the Bulldogs to start the game on an 11-0 run and took a 26-7 lead after the opening qtr.

The big guy, Lo-Ma’s Cale Cunard had a double-double with 12 pts and 13 rebounds, while teammate Brodie Davis added 12 pts. Cunard didn’t really get going until Davis started hitting some big shots, including a pair of 3’s to stretch the defense. It allowed the Panthers to slightly into the deficit at halftime.

But the Bulldogs quickly doubled it in the 3rd qtr as their defense allowed just 3 pts total to the Panthers.

Owen Fenner also had 11 pts for Riverside, who improved to 5-2 heading into the holiday break.

In the girls’ game, Sydney Somers put up a game high 17 pts and 12 boards as Riverside rolled Lo-Ma 51-20.

After the Panthers cut the lead to 4 in the 1st qtr, the Bulldogs ended the qtr on 11-3 run and didn’t look back allowing just 12 pts the rest of the game.

Riverside had 9 steals and their pressure caused several turnovers by Logan-Magnolia. Somers knows that creating turnovers is a key to her team’s success.

“That was great for us tonight. We got a lot of turnovers, like you said, and that just really pushed into our offense to speed it up a little bit, speed them up and get steals.”

Allysen Johnsen led the Panthers with 8pts while Maci Bertlesen added 7pts.
