Riverside FB Looking to Continue Success from Late Last Season -

(8-27-24) - Riverside Coach Darrell Frain likes the dynamic that Jaxon Gordon brings to his running game.

“He has great hands, pretty good vision in the backfield and we throw to him out of the backfield quite a bit. We just get the ball in his hands and let him be an athlete. And you know, that's a little bit in Class A football. If you have athletes and you can get the ball in their hands and give them a chance, you're going to win some ball games.”

In searching for a new starting QB, Frain says he tried out 6 different players for the position, each to due the type of leadership skills they possess.

“They understand the game. All their teammates follow them and as a quarterback, probably those two things try to lead as much as anything and their leadership skills have really jumped to the top.”
