St. Albert BB Reaches District Semis with Win Over Boyer Valley, 11-1 -

(7-7-25) – The “Marshall” plan was followed by the Falcons to perfection.

Owen Marshall struck out 11 in 6 innings of work while also going 3 for 4 with 3 RBI in St. Albert’s 11-1 win over Boyer Valley Monday.

Marshall had a rough 1st, giving up 1 run on 3 hits, and had runners at 2nd and 3rd with one out in 2nd when he began to settle down, retiring the next two batters without allowing a run.

He then retired 15 of the final 18 batters he faced. Marshall talked about his plan on the mound.

“Just throw a lot of strikes. Let my defense work. Make them put the ball in play and just try and keep the pitch count low. So, just attack on every pitch and try to limit the balls. Limit the walks.”

Parker Heisterkamp was 2 for 3 and scored 3 runs. Marshall talked about having such a player that can be so disruptive on the base paths hitting in front of him.

“He's a hell of an athlete. When he gets on, you can basically guarantee him getting to second and then it just frees you up a lot more hitting. Pulls that shortstop over sometimes, so, it just opens up a lot more holes for me.”

Kaicen Nadgwick also was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI for St. Albert.

2 hits for Boyer Valley’s Owen Garside and Logan Thomsen struck out 7 in 4 innings as the Bulldogs season ends at 8-11.
