St. Albert Boys’ BB to Play for District Championship, Beat Lo-Ma, 70-61 -

(2-20-25) – The Falcons used a Colt to ride into the district championship game.

St. Albert got 25 pts from Colt Spencer in St. Albert’s 70-61 win over Logan-Magnolia. Spencer felt his team was reading the defense well.

“We know they went zone that we had to high post and they would collapse on Owen (Marshall) in the high post and he just found easy feeds to me and I got easy layups. We preach ‘Make our layups’ because we definitely struggled at the beginning of the year and we definitely picked up making those since to break.”

Falcon’s Coach Tim Cannon loves how his 6-4 freshman center has enhanced his game over the season.

“In the beginning it was pretty much you get him on one spot and one move was pretty good, but now he’s getting finishes from each side and before each block, you know, even the couple threes lately. We call a play in the first half just for him to drive that guy and a layup. He's really expanding.”d

St. Albert got 14 points from Cooper Hamilton, all in the 2nd half. They’ll face Remsen St. Mary’s in Denison on Tuesday in the 1A-District 16 Championship Game. Logan-Magnolia got 23 from Jason Kastner as their season ends at 13 and 10.
