Track Season Gets Underway with IATC Indoor Track Championships –

(3-11-23) – Girls’ and boys’ track got underway this week with the IATC Indoor Championships in Ames on Thursday and Friday.

Harlan Community boys' track participated in several Class 3A events with the 4x100m relay team of Jacob Birch, Will Arkfeld, Cade Sears, and Will Neuharth finishing 1st with a time of 43.40. Neuharth, with a time of 7.02, and Aiden Hall, with a time of 7.05, finished 2nd and 4th respectively in 60m dash and Brehden Eggerss was 4th in the long jump with a personal record distance of 20-2.75. The Cyclones finished 10th overall in Class 3A with 28 pts.

Other area IATC Indoor Championship boys’ participants from the KNOD listening area include in Class 1A, Woodbine who tied for 7th with Riverside with 27 pts while St. Albert and Audubon finished tied for 22nd with 5 pts a piece. In Class 2A, Underwood tied for 7th with 24 pts and Treynor finished 17th with 11pts.

Winners included the Woodbine 4x800m relay team of Gunner Wagner, Brodyn Pryor, Adam Barry, and Lane Vennink who posted a time of 8:54.10 and in the Class 2A Shot Put, Thomas Huenke tossed a personal record best 57-0.75.
