Treynor Reaches Regional Semis with Solid Win over Tri-Center, 57-18 -

(2-18-25) – The Cardinals flew highest as they let Ella air it out.

Ella Thornton had 12 pts, including three 3-ptrs in Treynor’s 57-18 win over Tri-Center. The Cardinals used a 16-0 run to start the game and never looked back.

Thornton told KNOD Sports she was taking what the defense was giving to her.

“We had to stop them defensively in order for our offense to flow. The outside game was really open for me tonight, so I just took advantage of that.”

The defense for Treynor was stifling again, as they forced Tri-Center into four shot-clock violations because they weren’t given a clean shot. Thornton talked about how the defense has evolved this season.

“In practice, we've been really locking in on defense. We've been over the fact we have to stay straight up through everything and I feel like that’s just helped a lot.”

Tri-Center got 5 pts a piece from Hayden Thomas and Macie Schneckloth as they finish their season 7-15.

The Cardinals got 13 points from Nora Konz while Hanna Swanson and Rylee Hemmingsen each had 10 points off the bench. They will now face Shenandoah on Friday.
