Tri-Center Baseball Trounces IKM-Manning, 11-0 –

(6-5-26) – Shutdown pitching, taking advantage of miscues helped lead the Trojans to a conference win.

Tri-Center pitching combined to allow just one hit and offense got a spark late with 7 runs in the 6th to defeat IKM-Manning 11-0 on Friday.

Brody Weidner had a solo homer in the 5th to help extend the Trojans’ lead. He wasn’t sure it left the park.

“I didn't think it was out right away,” said Weidner on his first home run of the year. “I mean, all I was thinking was put the ball in play and try to get on base, start something up because that was the lead off there.”

Weidner would combine with starter Trenton Huebner to allow just one hit in the contest. Huebner said he wasn’t feel great but found a way to gut his way through and mix up his pitches.

“Curveball was really moving. It was moving how I wanted it to, so I really just tried to mix up the fastball, the curveball, mess with their timing a little bit.”

Huebner struck out 8 and allowed the one hit in 4 2/3 innings while Weidner retired four of the five batters he faced.

Wolves starter Karsyn Lorensen was brilliant, striking out 9 and giving up just two unearned runs in 3 2/3 innings. IKM-Manning fell to 3-7 on the season.

The Trojan’s Tristan Gunderson was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI as they improve to 5-2 on the season.
