Trojans BB Marches On; Defeats East Mills, 9-1 -

(7-9-24) – The Trojans trek to return to the 1A Baseball State Tournament continues.

AJ Harder’s 2-out, 2-run double broke open a tight game in the 4th and Tri-Center would eventually get offense to roll, beating East Mills, 9-1, in the Class 1A-District 15 semifinals on Tuesday. Harder talked to KNOD Radio about his key at-bat in the game.

“I was just looking for a fastball since it was a full count. I knew he was gonna throw me a fastball, so I just trying to put in play and I didn't think it's gonna go that far, but I barreled it up. Went pretty far.”

The Trojans grabbed the lead with runs in each of the first three innings. They scored on a wild pitch, an error, and a bases loaded walk. Harder says it’s important at this point of the season to make the most out their opponents’ miscues.

“When they're like making errors and stuff, I think we need to take advantage of that and we did a good job taking advantage of that. I think we did a good job blowing it open and it was just a great effort from us.”

This Tri-Center team is brimming with confidence, but know they have a tough test ahead.

“I think we're feeling really confident,” said Harder. “We're playing Lenox. I think they're really good team and it's gonna be tough to beat them.”

The Trojans will host Lenox for the 1A-District 15 Championship Game on Saturday.
