West Harrison Dominates in State Tourney Win over Dunkerton, 87-61 -

(3-6-23) - The boards were Hawkeye territory at the Well Monday.

West Harrison outrebounded Dunkerton 48-14 in their 87-61 victory in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A Boys' State Basketball tournament.

Koleson Evans had 27 pts along with 14 boards as he overcame early foul trouble and led his team to their first ever state tournament victory.

Sage Evans cleared 20 rebounds and put up 11 pts as all five starters were in double figures for the Hawkeyes.

The rebounds led to 23 2nd chance points, 19 in the 2nd half. West Harrison also dominated in the paint, outscoring Dunkerton 44-24.

Dunkerton was led by Casey Gardner, who had 27 pts on the afternoon, while teammate Preston Gillespie had 19. West Harrison shot 54.2 percent from the floor.

West Harrison will move on to play No. 1-seed Grand View Christian in the Class 1A Semifinals on Wednesday. (105.3FM KNOD)
