Wolves BKB Dominates in DH Sweep of Lo-Ma –

(1-20-26) – It may have been Panthers territory, but it was the Wolves who owned the night.

Wyatt Danner had 21 pts as IKM-Manning boys’ basketball rolled over Logan-Magnolia 75-43, at the Panther Dome on Tuesday.

After a hard-fought 1st qtr, that saw the Wolves hold on to a 5-pt lead, things started to click for the offense as Ben Ramsey and Ashton Ahrenholtz put on show with several give-and-go moves to the basket that the Panthers couldn’t defend.

IKM-Manning also was hitting from long distance, hitting eight 3-ptrs, including two by Danner. It helped expand a 13-pt lead at the half to 28 by then end of the 3rd.

Danner says the offense runs best when everyone gets involved.

“I know, when we're at our best, we have multiple people in double digits. I know there's a lot of nights where Ben does most of scoring and he's hot. But, you know, when we come together and I get some shots up and Brock (Kusel) and Ashton are feeling it, that's when we're at our best.”

The Wolves got 13 pts each from Ramsey and Kusel while Ahrenholtz had 12 pts.

Danner thinks how his team is playing, but knows some big tests lie in wait.

“I think right now we're really starting to build. Our last couple of games have been wins and we got a tough stretch coming up, so we really got to start playing hard right now.”

Cale Cunard had 17pts for the Panthers in the loss.

In the girls’ contest, Keagan Eischeid had 21 pts for IKM-Manning, 19 in the 2nd half, as they beat Logan-Magnolia 65 to 40.

It was an outside-inside start for the Wolves, as Oriah Meiners had a pair of 3’s in the 1st half and Addisyn Bandow controlled the post, and the two combined for 15 of their team’s 28 1st half points.

The Panthers saw Allysen Johnsen do all she could to keep her team in the game, constantly driving to the left of the lane and hitting layup after layup, before finding the range from long distance. She scored the final 12 pts of the half for Logan-Magnolia.

IKM-Manning dominated, even though leading scorer Anna Stangl was all but shutout in the 1st half. Her only points came on a half-court buzzer beater to end the half. She finished the game with just 5 pts.

Then Eischeid was let loose in the 2nd half. She talked about the adjustments she made at halftime.

“In the first half, we had to adjust to their defense. I don't think we were quite as ready for it as we should have been. So we had to talk in the locker room and we came out and we broke their zone.”

Logan-Magnolia made a play to get back into the game in the 3rd qtr, as Johnsen hit a couple of 3’s and Maci Bertlesen got going to help the Panthers cut their deficit to single digits at one point. But shooting went cold in the 4th qtr as Lo-Ma scored just 2 pts the rest of the game.

Eischeid said it took some time before her Wolves finally found their rhythm.
“Coming into the game, we knew we couldn't play down to their level because we thought we would beat them by more. But I think we just needed to settle in and we were just a little too excited.”

Meiners finished with 15 pts while Bandow had an 11pt night for the Wolves. The Panthers got 27 pts from Johnsen.
