Wolves Football Spotlight: Davis Rasmussen –

(8-19-24) – Could be some exciting times in Manning this high school football season.

IKM-Manning’s Davis Rasmussen is seeing it already in camp.

“(I’m) just seeing like all of our players, working hard, everyone's like bought into it. So that makes me very excited to see what's going to happen this season.”

Rasmussen says he has needed to take on more of a leadership role this camp.

“We have more younger guys. So with us older guys, we have to help them a lot. They're learning a lot. So it's a lot different from last year to this year.”

And for Rasmussen, that means passing along what he’s learned from previous camps.

“Staying focused because at the end of the practice, everyone's like all tired about that. So you just got to stay focused and finish the practice and all that.”

At the tailback position last year, Rasmussen produced 467 yards rushing and 205 yards receiving with 7 touchdowns for the Wolves. With his speed, he’s expected to have a bigger role this year and part of a one-to-two combo out of the backfield with Ben Langel. Rasmussen says reading defenses helped him find holes to exploit and he hopes that make him improve even more this season.

“I think I learned that last year and that kind of helped me a lot.”

Rasmussen knows what it will take to have a successful season.

“Just keep working. If you don't know what happened, just keep grinding.”
