Woodbine Rolls Over Exira-EHK to Open 8-Player Playoffs, 78-6 –

(10-24-25) – The cheerleaders got their exercise in Woodbine Friday.

The Tiger cheerleaders have to do jumping jacks after every score for the number of points on scoreboard. They were definitely tired after the last score as Woodbine would put up a 78-6 victory over Exira-EHK in the opening round of the 8-player playoffs.

Micah Moores had 67 yds and 4 TD rushing for Woodbine. He likes how the running game was able to be on display for the Tigers normally passing offense.

“We didn't run the ball a whole lot, but when we did, we were able to do it successfully because the blocking was really good. We switched up some running techniques and play techniques, and we're able to find the gaps a lot better now.”

Brodyn Pryor threw for 158 yds and 4 TD while adding another on the ground for the Tigers.

“He's a great leader,” Moores says of Pryor. “He just knows everything and he's been around. He's been doing it since he was a freshman. He just, he really commands everyone. He takes care of the huddle real well and we just follow him.”

The efficiency Woodbine’s offense was tremendous as they scored 11 touchdowns on just 29 plays from scrimmage. Play like that makes the offense fun for Moores.

“It's really fun, especially when we can just throw the ball real deep to Landon (Blum) or whoever, and it's just like touchdown every other play. We've had success and once we get harder teams, it'll come a little harder, but we plan on being ready for that.”

Two of the TD passes when to Ayden Coenen, who had 72 yds through the air to lead Woodbine.

The defense was spectacular again for the Tigers, getting 3 sacks and 12 tackles for loss, including 4 by Joe Freund. Moores knows that their defense is underrated.

“Our defense is our best thing and all our guys are really good tacklers and we get stops as often as we can and we just focus a lot on that.”

The Spartans only score came on 2yd touchdown run by Josten Kilworth as they finish their season 4- 5.

Woodbine will face SE Warren at home on Friday in the Round of 16.
