Woodbine VB Earns 1st Win of Season in Straight-Sets over Lo-Ma -

(9-3-24) – The Highway 30 rivalry went the way of the Tigers Tuesday.

Katy Pryor had 6 kills as Woodbine came away with a straight-sets victory over Logan-Magnolia, 25-22, 25-12, 25-22, for their first victory of the season.

Pryor talked about her and her teammates getting back out on the court first time this season.
“It was great. Honestly, it was so good to be just back on the court. Everyone was playing together as a team and we really just came out really hot.”

The Tigers really seem to find their groove in Set 2, when they rattled off 10 of 11 pts to take a commanding early lead. Pryor feels confidence is what made that set successful.

“I think in Set No. 2, we would make a mistake and we just push it off and that like really helped us to get back. We never really like, we're down for too long. We were able to get back in the groove and get some points.”

Isabelle Crook had 4 kills and 5 blocks for the Tigers, who have now won two of their last 3 matches over the Panthers. Pryor likes what Crook can do at the net.

“Playing back row and she's in front row. You know you can trust her to get some touches up there and it's awesome having a good middle.”

Zoe Heim had 9 kills and 13 digs for Logan-Magnolia, who drop to 1 and 3 on the season.
