It's Popcorn Friy-Yay! at the Harlan Community Library. Saturday, May 4th - It's 5K and Game Day at Pioneer Park from 9 am to 1 pm. Sunday, May 5th - Macedonia’s “Pack the Grandstand”, a special celebration and ball game will be held Sunday, May 5th, beginning at 5:30 pm with a beer garden and a special community ballgame at 6:30 pm. Malvern Artist Zack Jones has been commissioned to create one of three massive works of art on Macedonia’s Main Street and will use this game to recreate the feel of an old-time, vintage baseball game in a 24 by 12 foot mural to be installed this summer. The mural will highlight Macedonia’s unique covered stadium, ballfield and citizens of the town. The event is sponsored by the Macedonia Murals Project, Macedonia Heart and Soul and the City of Macedonia. Monday, May 6th - Myrtue Medical Center invites all families with children under 12 years of age to Fishing For Fun, Monday, May 6th, from 5 to 7 pm at Nishna Bend Recreation area. A meal will be provided for all registered participants, plus there will be prizes and books for children. Each adult planning to fish must have a valid 2024 fishing license. Public Health's Learning for Life program will reimburse $22 towards the cost of the fishing license with a limit of one per family until gone. Funding is provided by the Community Chest. An After School Movie "Trolls Band Together" will be held at the Harlan Community Library starting at 3:30 pm. Tuesday, May 7th - Tech Time will begin at 3 pm and Bookworms will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 at the Harlan Community Library. Join the Museum of Danish America along with Exira-EHK's preschoolers for an intergenerational morning of creative activities at SPARK! at 10 am, Tuesday, May 7th. It will be a time of different generations coming together, learning from one another and forming new friendships! SPARK! is cultural programming that fosters connection and encourages lifelong learning. Programs feature interactive exhibit experience, and all programs begin with a coffee social and a snack.
