AHSTW’s Pauley Signs LOI to Be on IWCC’s Dance Team -

(4-30-24) – AHSTW’s Makenzie Pauley is dancing her way to college.

Pauley signed her letter of intent Tuesday to be a member of the dance team at Iowa Western Community College this fall.

“I've been following along with them,” Pauley told KNOD Sports Tuesday. “They are pretty good. I've seen some of my friends go there and they are the family. There is just so good they get along and it's like another family and they just won two National Champs Championships this year.

Pauley’s been interested in dance for the majority of her life.

“I started out really young and ever since I've been dancing. It's just like another way to, like, get out and it's like another life and it's just, it's fun.”

Pauley says watching previous dance team members has been an inspiration throughout her career.

“Ever since I was little, I would always look up to the older kids because I always wanted to be like as good as them and I always looked up to like the older girls. Once they moved on to college, I still liked to watch them and I was like, oh, I want to be that when I'm older and I want to do all this and it just kept me going throughout the years.”

Pauley will be part of Iowa Western’s Nursing program.
