Funeral Services are pending for 93 year old Verdell Dean Nelson of Casey.  Verdell passed away Tuesday November 11th at his home in Casey under hospice care.  The Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Adair is in charge of the arrangements.

Private family graveside services for 98 year old Darlene Mae Rasmussen of Harlan will be held at the Jacksonville Cemetery.  Darlene passed away Sunday, November 9th, at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan  Survivors include her daughter, Diane Allen and husband Larry of Elk Horn and son, Ricky Rasmussen and wife Zeliana of Harlan; 3 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  The Heartland Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral Services for 80-year-old Duane Robert Smith will be held on Thursday, November 13th, at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Denison beginning at 11am with interment at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon, IA. Duane passed away on Saturday, November 8th, at Denison Care Center in Denison. Survivors include siblings, Judy Thompson and husband Leon of Audubon, IA, Marilyn Hocamp of Exira, IA, Larry Smith of Carroll, IA, James Smith, and Ronald Smith and wife Debra, all of Denison. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Denison where they are in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services for 93 year old Rosa May Clemsen of Exira, IA, will be held on Friday, November 14th, at the Elk Horn Lutheran Church in Elk Horn, IA, beginning at 10:30am with interment at the Elk Horn Lutheran Cemetery. Rosa May passed away on Friday, November 7th, at Cass Health in Atlantic, IA. Survivors include Laurie Town of Ft. Dodge, Bryan Clemsen and wife Shari of Brayton, Susan Finn and husband Steve of Harlan, Jan Reicks and husband Rob of West Des Moines, and Joy Gadja and husband John of Lindenhurst, IL; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and her cat Fluffy.  Public visitation with the family will be held 5pm to 7 pm, on Thursday, November 13th at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Exira, IA. A luncheon will follow the committal in the Fellowship Hall of the church. The Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Exira is in charge of the arrangements.
