Funeral Services are pending for 74 year old James E. Brannan of Audubon.  James passed away Tuesday, January 24th at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.  The Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in  Carroll is in charge of the arrangements.  ​

Graveside Services for 71 year old Mervin M. Coffman of Elk Horn, formerly of Shelby will be held at a later date.  Mervin passed away Sunday, January 22nd in Elk Horn.  Survivors include 3 siblings: Meredith Coffman and wife Marilyn of Hot Springs, AR, Lynda Wahling and husband Eugene of Shelby and Laurae Kingsbury and husband Donald of Omaha.  The Burmeister Johannsen Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of the arrangements.

A Celebration of Life Service for 97 year old Virginia J. Rold of Harlan will be held ​​​​10:30 am, Saturday, January 28th,at the Altamont Baptist Church south of Harlan with burial at a later date.  Virginia passed away January 1st at Myrtue Medical Center in Harlan.  Survivors include her sons Lawrence Rold and wife Pamela of Harlan and Kay Jay and wife Lori Rold of Harlan; daughters: Barbara McClelland of Phoenix, AZ, Debra Gorden and husband John of Queen Creek, AZ, and Mary Rold of Atlantic; sister, Mary Anna Knouse of Mission, TX and brother, Frederick Fox of Harlan; 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  The Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of the arrangements.

Mass of Christian Burial for 74 year old Dennis Anastasi of Defiance will be held 11 am, Saturday, January 28th, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Defiance with burial in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Defiance.  Dennis passed away Monday, January 23rd at his home.  Survivors include his wife Mary Ann; 3 sons, Jason Anastasi of Defiance, Jared Anastasi of Manilla and Joey Anastasi of Polk City; 1 sister, Vicky Graham of Earling; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  Visitation will be held 9 to 11 am, Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Defiance.  The Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral Services for 92-year-old Keith Lueders of Westside will be held 2:00 P.M, Saturday, January 28 at United Church in Westside.  Interment with military honors will be in the Westside Cemetery. He passed away Tuesday, January 24 at Regency Park in Carroll.  Survivors include his wife, Annabelle Lueders of Westside; daughter, Lorna and husband, John Taylor of Perry; two sons: Arlan Lueders and Alan Lueders and his wife, Joanie all of Westside; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.   Friends may call from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 28 at United Church in Westside. The Huebner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Celebration of Life for 23-year-old Brandon Hansen of Denison will be held 3:00 P.M, Saturday, January 28 at the Huebner Funeral Home in Denison.  Brandon passed away Saturday, January 21st in Denison. Survivors include his mother, Jennifer Hansen of Denison; father, Chris Hansen of Wisconsin; brother, Aaron Hansen (Abbie) of Denison; niece, Alleigha***uh LEE uh*** Hansen of Denison; maternal grandparents, Charles and Joan Boeck ***Boyk***of Denison; paternal grandmother, Esther Hansen of Davenport; uncles: Ryan Boeck of Denison, Matthew Boeck (Tonya) of Ames, and Kevin Hansen (Michelle) of Manchester; other relatives and friends.  The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison is in charge of arrangements where friends may call from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 28.

A Celebration of Life Service for 77 year old Lana Tanner of Atlantic will be held 1 to 4 pm, Sunday, January 29th, at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club with a private family graveside service at the Atlantic Cemetery.  Lana passed away Sunday, January 22nd at the Heritage House in Avoca.  Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Brooke; son, Todd Tanner and wife Michelle; 2 grandsons; 2 step-grandsons; 2 great-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Sandy Smith.  Open visitation with no family present and no public viewing will be held noon to 5:30 pm, Friday, January 27th, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic where they are in charge of the arrangements.

Mass of Christian Burial for 93 year old Mary Pat Tremel of Earling will be held on Monday, January 30th, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earling beginning at 10am with burial in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Earling. Mary Pat passed away on Wednesday, January 25th, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. Survivors include her children, Jean Kritenbrink and husband Art of Council Bluffs, IA, Nancy Tremel and significant other Dale Pedersen of Courtney, British Columbia, CA, Kathy Olson of Norwalk, IA, Don Tremel, Deb Henrich, and Sharon Bruck and signficant other Kelly Reynolds, all of Earling, IA; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, January 29th, with a rosary at 7pm, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Earling. The Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral Services for 89 year old Elaine Allen of Harlan will be held 11 am, Monday, January 30th, at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan with burial at the Harlan Cemetery.  Elaine passed away Monday, January 23rd at Elm Crest Retirement Community.  Survivors include her children:  James Briggs and friend Keith Dreckman of Carroll, Annette Madsen and husband  Randy of Kimballton, Jennifer Rihner and husband Dan of Irwin and Alison Gearhart of Harlan; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.  Visitation will be held 5 to 8 pm, Sunday, January 29th, at the Pauley Jones Funeral Home in Harlan where they are in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral Services for 79 year old Larry D. Mulford of Audubon, IA, will be held on Monday, January 30th, at the First United Methodist Church in Audubon beginning at 2pm with burial in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon. Larry passed away on Monday, January 23rd, at the Salem Lutheran Home in Elk Horn, IA. Survivors include his son Jeff Mulford of Exira, IA; 3 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; aunt Geraldine Clausen of Fremont, NE; sister-in-law, Gloria Mulford of Elk Horn, IA; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will meet with friends from 1pm until service time at the church in Audubon. The Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon is in charge of the arrangements.

Mass of Christian Burial for 85-year-old Mike Keating of Mapleton will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 31 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mapleton with burial in the Saint Clair Cemetery in Ute. He passed away Wednesday, January 25 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison.        
Survivors include:  his children: Kim (Mark) Wilken of Las Vegas, Tammy (James) Beam of Arion, Todd Keating of Arnolds Park, and Jodi Stormer of Grimes; 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (James) Jurgens of Charter Oak; brother-in-law, Tony Mechura of Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Keating of Charter Oak; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  The Huebner Funeral Home in Charter Oak is in charge of arrangements where friends may call from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday, January 30 with a Rosary at 4:45 PM and a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM.

Mass of  Christian Burial for 91 year old Sally Krajicek ***CRY-check*** of Dunlap will be held 11 am, Tuesday, January 31st at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dunlap with burial in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap.  Sally passed away Wednesday, January 25th at her home in Dunlap  Survivors include 8 children:  Ed Krajicek of Denison, Jan Roberts and husband Don of Dunlap, Mike Krajicek and Sam of Denison, Mary Lou Kline of Oklahoma City, OK, Roberta Mumm and husband Kenny of Dunlap, Betty Soller and husband Dan of Crosslake, MN, John Krajicek and wife Brandi of Denison and Rich Krajicek and wife Sandy of Dunlap; daughter-in-law, Lottie Krajicek of Dunlap; son-in-law, Chuck Schneider of Omaha; 2 brothers:  Cliff Miles and wife Nancy of Denison and Walt Miles and wife Barbie of McGregor, Ia.  Visitation will be held 4 to 8 pm, Monday, January 30th at St. Patrick Parish Center in Dunlap with a Rosary at 4 pm and a scripture service at 7:30 pm.  The Fouts Funeral Home in Dunlap is in charge of the arrangements.

Graveside Services for 81 year old Larry Fehling of Howard, CO will be held 2 pm, Tuesday, January 31st, at St. John's Cemetery in  Adair with military honors by the Adair American Legion.  Larry passed away Monday, January 9th, at Brighton Garden's in St. Charles, IL.  Larry is survived by his son Larry; nephews, Steve and wife Sandy, Mark and wife Carla and Jay; nieces Mary Kay and husband Robert, Kelly and husband Mike, Allison and husband Carter, Rachel and husband Chris and Nancy; god daughter Monica.  The Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Adair is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorial Services for 71 year old Mary Earith-Nielsen of Kirkman will be held 11 am, Saturday, February 4th, at the Kirkman Community Building with burial at 1 pm, April 8th at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Tabor.  Mary passed away Wednesday, January 25th at her home.  Survivors include her husband Carl; children:  Erik Nielsen of Harlan, Kim Petersen and husband Joe of Walnut, and Jenny Nielsen of Auburn, IL; 2 sisters:  Ruthie Zarek and husband Bob of Bellevue, NE and Priscilla McGinnis and her husband of Nebraska City, NE; and 6 grandchildren.  The Pauley Jones Funeral Home in  Harlan is in charge of the arrangements.

​A Memorial Service for 93 year old Dorothy Myers of  Council Bluffs, formerly of Oakland, will be held on Saturday, February 4th, at the Oakland Christian Church beginning at 11am with internment in Belknap Cemetery at a later date.  Dorothy passed away Sunday, January 22nd in Council Bluffs. Survivors include her four children: Patty, Bob, Sherry, and Michael; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren; sisters-in-laws, Carol Wilson and Marilyn Randels; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the memorial service. The Rieken Vieth Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service to honor the lives of 91 year old Don “Pappy” Ward and 84 year old Geraldine “Jeri” Ward will be held at 11:30am February 4th, at Zion Lutheran Church in Atlantic. Burial will be held in the coming months at Southlawn Memorial Gardens in Atlantic in conjunction with a Celebration of Life Memorial service for their son, Mike. Pappy passed away on Thursday, January 19th at the Exira Care Center and Jeri passed away on Saturday, April 4th, 2020, at Caring Acres in Anita. Survivors include daughters, Linda (John) Minear of Livonia, Missouri and Diana (David) Young of Casey, Iowa; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, longtime companion of their late son Mike Ward, Susan Long; Jeri’s sister, Atha Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Don’s siblings, Nola Brown of Anita, Iowa, Kenneth (Judy) Ward of Mesquite, Nevada and Richard (Janie) Ward of Anita, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Barb Ward of Grant, Iowa. The Roland Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

A Celebration of Life "Birthday Party" for 68 year old Teri Lynn Dunn of Council Bluffs will be held 2 to 5 pm, Saturday, February 18th, at Nebraska Machine Products at 9101 F Street in Omaha.  Teri passed away Thursday, January 12th,  at her home.  Survivors include her brother:  Chuck Moeller and wife Colleen; Brother-in-law, Bob Ettleman; daughter, Amanda Chan; son-in-law, Jason; daughter, LeAnne Kniewel and son-in-law, Rob. several grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Family Graveside Services for 99-year-old Betty Randol of Ricketts will be held April 4, on Betty’s 100th birthday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Dunlap. She passed away Friday, December 30 at Dunlap Specialty Care in Dunlap.  Survivors include her 3 sons: James (Rebecca) Randol of Dow City, Rodney Randol of Sioux City and Terry Randol of Lake City; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison is in charge of arrangements
