High School Career Day Staff spoke with students from Harlan Community High School and AHSTW-Avoca during career event at their schools. 2. Internship Program Employed person for training to broadcast high school sports on the KNOD 2 sports Stream. Duties include on-air broadcasting of football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball games, Airing sponsor ads, station id’s, and player & coach’s interviews. Paxton Meek of Oakland Colton Hering of Oakland 3. Speaking at Community Events Staff spoke at community group meetings and events about working in radio and the various opportunities available. 4. Girl and Boy Scout Groups Staff gave tours explaining how radio works, also helped Scouts record PSA’s to air for National Girl and Boy Scout weeks. 5. Shelby County 4-H Members Staff recorded ads concerning National 4-H week. Answered questions and encouraged students to come in and apply for our internship program. 6. Harlan Community FFA Members Staff helped members record PSA’s, instructing them on how to create professional recordings and encouraged them to apply for our internship program. 7. Catholic School Students Staff recorded students from the local Catholic School, explaining the process, from Recording to airing the recorded ads, encouraging them to learn more About radio broadcasting. Several recruitment initiatives were utilized by KNOD in the last year. In November 2024, members of our staff spoke with students at the AHSTW career day in Avoca. We have KNOD student and adult on-air internship programs, and have had members of local groups into KNOD for tours and to record. Plus members of our staff have gone out into the community to speak at various group meetings and area events. Those meetings and events include: October 2024: Shelby County 4-H Club members November 2024: AHSTW-Avoca School Career Fair January 2025: Shelby County Catholic School students February 2025: Harlan FFA members Local Boy Scout Troup March 2025: Local Girl Scout Troup July 2025: 4-H and FFA County Fair participants August 2025: local Boy Scouts |
