HC Out, L-M Enter Latest Radio Iowa Football Poll -
(10-9-23) - An injury-riddled loss puts the Cyclones out of the Radio Iowa Football Poll.
Harlan Community dropped out the Class 3A poll this week after falling on the road, 39-20 to now No. 7 Nevada. It means the Cyclones will now need to rely on an at-large bid to reach the Class 3A playoffs. They're currently 16th in the Iowa High School Athletic Association RPI poll.
Entering the Class A poll is Logan-Magnolia, who slip in at No. 9. The Panthers have ripped off 4 consecutive wins since falling to No. 1 Woodbury Central Week 3. They weren't listed on the IHSAA Class A poll.
Underwood is holding on steady to 2nd in the Class 1A poll and Treynor has re-entered the poll at No. 9. Both hold the same positions in the Class 1A IHSAA rankings. Kuemper Catholic moved up a spot to No. 6 in Class 2A poll, where they also sit in the IHSAA poll. Lewis Central is still 5th in Class 4A for Radio Iowa and 3rd in the IHSAA RPI standings.
The IHSAA has switched to a rankings system this year to help determine postseason assignments in Classes 2A through 8-player. The RPI system remains for Classes 5A, 4A, and 3A.
